Movie Title:

"Rescued by Ruby" (2022)

Main Characters:

I watched this movie on Netflix primarily because of Grant Gustin. Grant is a skilled actor who was also a character on the television show Glee. He is best known for his role in The CW’s The Flash.

In this film, he plays Dan O'Neil, a state police officer who wants to join the K-9 search and rescue team. But he needs to find a search and rescue dog first.

I also enjoy seeing films featuring dogs as the primary characters. Ruby was alternatively performed by two dogs, Bear and Shiloh.

Story Plot:

Ruby resides in a dog shelter and has been adopted seven times, but has always been returned due to some event. "She's a handful; she chews, digs, steals food, never sleeps, and isn't housebroken." (Excerpts from the film)

However, for Dan O'Neil, "She’s gonna be the first shelter dog to make the K-9 unit."

Movie Theme:

It's not your typical film about a dog and a boy's connection. Dan, the main character, is an adult starting his own family. O'Neil has his own goals and ambitions and must overcome his flaws.

The film Rescued by Ruby is based on a true story of a “free-spirited” dog that no one can control.

Dan never gave up on Ruby, so she rewarded him so well.

Recommendations:

A heart-warming, feel-good film suitable for the entire family from Netflix.

Highly recommended for a family movie date or bonding time at home.

This film inspires us to adopt shelter dogs.

So, do we rescue dogs? Or do they rescue us?

Rating: ***** 5 Stars

Note:

I researched and compiled some facts about the movie, then included my opinions in this Movie Review.
